I grew up in the Chicago area and graduated with a degree in bassoon performance from the University of Michigan. My interest in taking things apart (and putting them back together!) led me to a career in musical instrument repair and piano tuning. I've worked in homes, schools, churches and on the concert stage since the early 1980's. I've also had the opportunity to tune for WFMT Pianoforte Salon broadcast. After joining the Piano Technicians Guild, Master Piano Technicians of America, and discovering the online piano technician community, I have been involved in teaching and learning about my craft. I've taught other technicians, written published articles and columns at both the local and national levels. I combine tradition with technology to attempt to bring each piano to the most musical level of performance based on the budget and needs of the client.
